My kids just made me a very happy person today.

Before the holidays, I asked my kids if they knew the reason for the lack of homework over the weekends.

"We don't hand in our homework and Ms Tan is sad"

"Yes Ms Tan is sad but Ms Tan has decided to give this class another chance, I will assign you homework this holiday. Let's see if you can complete it and hand it up over the holiday. If you can, I will start assigning the class homework again."

At this point in time, the class actually cheered.(blink blink)

Anyway, I held little hope that most of them will hand in their homework, especially since its after the holidays, but lo and behold, most of them actually handed up their homework today!

Yes, Ms Tan is one happy teacher today.

1. Why the name studenteacherstudenteacher?
On a recent trip to China, I learnt that everyone is addressed as a teacher because everybody has the responsibility to set as an example. Each of us is also learning how to live your life. At the end of the day, as we learn to become better people (student), we set an example to others (teacher). Thus it starts with student, and ends with teacher. The roles are constantly changing, thus the repeat.

2. Why are there no pictures of you?
The world does not revolve around me.

3. Anything that you can reveal?
No brainers that I am a teacher by occupation as can be inferred by my postings. I'm a teacher by occupation but I also volunteer as a teacher outside curriculum time. Opinions stated here may not neccessary reflect the stance of any organisations.

4. Is this a blog where you rant against students and parents?
Nope, I am just sharing experiences on what I feel works and doesn't work. These are not only applicable in school but in life as well. Comments are welcome.
